Topics will include Lifestyle and Diet, Lipid Lowering Compounds and Varia.

European Society of Endocrinology statement on iodine prophylaxis

This statement is aimed at ESE members and other clinicians following the events at the nuclear reactor in Japan.
The European Society of Endocrinology (ESE) would like to inform its members about the recommendations for iodine prophylaxis in the unlikely event that such measures should be needed in Europe, after the radiation leak in Japan. Also it is likely that there may be an increased number of queries from the public to their respective physicians.

I am emailing regarding the forthcoming ESE Clinical Update Course, which is to be held from 22-24 October 2010 in Porto, Portugal. An excellent and exciting programme has been put together for the course. The website is now live and registration is open. The Course Programme can now be viewed online by clicking here. The deadline to submit an abstract of a clinical case, that is suitable for presentation in one of the interactive workshop sessions, is fast approaching – 17 September 2010. I am emailing to ask if you would be able to advertise the case submission deadline, registration links and programme links to your members and on-line? Vyhlásená súťaž o najlepšiu publikáciu v odbore endokrinológia za rok 2009 (honorovaná sumou 500 Euro), ktorej uzávierka končila 30.4.2010, žiaľ nemá víťaza nakoľko nebola prihlásená žiadna práca. Po dohovore s prof. Klimešom (predsedom vyhodnocovacej komisie) a prof. Lazúrovej sme sa rozhodli predĺžiť deadline k odovzdaniu publikácie do 20.9.2010 s tým, že výsledky, resp. výber najlepšej publikácie za rok 2009 zhodnotíme (na návrh prof. Klimeša) na zasadaní výboru SES na kongrese v Košiciach. Tam aj vyhlásime víťaza súťaže.

Touto formou si dovoľujem Vás požiadať o zapojenie sa do súťaže a zaslanie niektorej z Vašich prác (vašich kolegov, resp. pracoviska) prof. Klimešovi.
